National Review's Pointless Anti Donald Trump Issue

The conservative National Review's recent manifesto against 2016 GOP Presidential front runner Donald Trump was completely pointless and will be ineffective. The article featured 22 prominent conservative writers almost half of which I personally never even heard of. There are two blatant reasons why this article is useless for stopping Trump.

Alex Jones Flip Flops and Loves Sarah Palin Now

The Conspiracy King and radio host Alex Jones appears to have flip flopped about his views on Sarah Palin. I just realized this now, but he did this going back to at least January 2015. I think even going back to early 2013 because his website has used her as an authoritative source many times since that year when pushing conspiracy theories .

Republicans are Closeted Stimulas Lovers

One of the most humorous things about politics is politicians hypocritically doing things they pretend to be against. Whether its an anti-gay senator looking for gay sex or railing against Romneycare Obamacare it never gets old. One of the largest examples of hypocrisy comes from Republicans who voted against the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (Stimulus). They brag about how they (meaning all of them in the House) voted against it, yet take credit for the stimulus funds and projects in they're district. Think Progress to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the Stimulus called out several Republican politicians for requesting stimulus money. Here's one example.

Despite repeatedly voting against the American Recovery Act, Boehner thanked federal officials for stepping in and ordering the state “to use all of its construction dollars for shovel-ready projects that will create much-needed jobs.”

The Iowa blog Bleeding Heartland reported: Rep. Steve King’s (R-IA) office “issued an upbeat statement about $570,000 included in the economic stimulus bill that will go toward widening U.S. Highway 20 in a rural area of northwest Iowa. Of course, the statement did not mention that King voted against the stimulus. Nor did the brief news item in the Sioux City Journal.” King repeatedly voted against the stimulus.

This news itself is nothing new but on the anniversary of the Stimulus its important to bring up again. Rachel Maddow was already covering this back in 2011.

Ted Cruz is the Leon Trotsky of the GOP

Ted Cruz is making enemies within the GOP establishment. The newest to the list is former Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Speaking to ABC Bush said:

"Have a little bit of self-restraint. It might actually be a politically better approach to see the massive dysfunction, but we don't even hear about that because we've stepped on that message ... show a little self-restraint and let this happen a little more organically."

There have been many references to Joe McCarthy when discussing Ted Cruz's behavior. Over the past couple weeks since the government shutdown, he's becoming more like Leon Trotsky. Leon Trotsky was one of the drivers of the 1917 Russian Revolution. He would later break away from the Soviet Union establishment under Joseph Stalin. This was due to an anti-Stalin ideological communist faction Trotsky was part of.

Glenn Beck responded to Jeb Bush's comments urging his listeners to "stop listening to the Bushes". This can only result in a more divided and isolated ideological right wing. We are seeing the rise of the Tea Party Trotskyites with Ted Cruz taking a faction of the GOP down that path.
